1.) Which Walkabout assignments have you completed so far? (Walkabout Proposal, research paper, presentation)
None of them.
2.) What obstacles have you faced in getting the work done?
Thinking of other things and getting distracted easilly. Not a very good excuse, but I just need to do them.
3.) Which aspects of Walkabout are you most excited about and why?
I haven't been able to sew in a really long time because of being busy with other school things and other distractions, so being able to just sit down and sew again will be like heaven. Also just the fact that I'll be costuming as an ACTUAL costumer is completly amazing. Before when I was at Davis, I was just listed as an Intern, but I'm going to be an official costumer; my name will be listed under "Head Costumer" in the credits. It's so completly awesome!!!
4.) In what ways will you be taking significant risk during Walkabout?
In the event of me screwing up, or not getting something finished in time for the play, it could reflect poorly on Davis, and it could even ruin my relationships with the people there. I kind of have a lot at stake by doing this, but I know I'm going to pull through. I wouldn't even consider doing something this big unless I knew I would pull through for them.
5.) What support would you like to have during your Walkabouts, from school, home, friends, a mentor, etc.?
Well, for my 3rd quarter walkabout, I just want people to acknowledge that I'm going to be busy a lot of the time, so I'm going to be left alone sometimes, and I'll need people to be okay with that and not take it personally if I tell them I can't do something with them. As far as school goes, I don't really have anything to ask of anyone. They've already been helpful enough. And I think for this, I want to be able to be independant, and just work on things mostly on my own.
6.) Please write a narative for your English credit for 1st semester seminar. Describe why you should get an EE, ME, AE, or JB.
At this point I'm most likely getting a JB, but I'm going to write my proposal, and my research paper. And I hope I can still give my presentation. So hopefully that wil boost my grade up to an ME, even if it's an incredibly low one.
7.) Write a naritive for your 1st semester experiential site work and weekly seminar. Say why you are getting an EE, ME, AE, or JB.
I would say I have a low ME to a high-ish AE, because I've missed a few seminars, but while I was at my site, I did nearly everything I was meant to, and it really did help me, and while I was there, it helped me to gain a better idea of what being a college student is like, so I think I gained a lot out of the experience, which is what the point of having sites is, really.
